Simac Masic & TSS bv provides solutions for complex industrial turnkey automation projects, from small tooling for LCD and PolyLED manufactures to a full automatic assembly machine for waterpumps sealings. A broad range of inhouse technologies makes it possible to do multi-discipline projects:

  • Assembly machines
  • Production and reliability systems
  • Laser welding, marking and trimming systems
  • Vision inspection systems, complete with handling
  • Vacuum solutions
  • Glass-metal and glass-glass bonding systems
  • Test and measurement systems
  • Retrofit and upgrading of existing machines

A few samples of the projects Simac provides are shown below, click on the links.

Waterpump Sealing Assembly Machine

This machine automatically assembles waterpump sealings. The final product is build up out of 7 parts from metal, rubber, plastic and carbon. In module A & B 2 sub-assemblies are made. Through a buffer module, which can stack up to 720 sub- assemblies, the sub-assemblies goes to the final assembly module. On the final assembly module products are cleaned, tested on leakage and tested on height with predefined pressure. Every 5 seconds a product is delivered by the assembly mechanisation.

The buffer module can be filled automatic by module A and B or manual. Every module can work standalone .
A PC is used for the communication with the different modules for operating, error reporting and data collection.

Module A: Sub assembly A Module B: Sub assembly B Final Assembly and testing

Used Technologies:

Module A and B

  • Feeding of parts with bulk-, bowl- and linear feeders
  • Feeding with trays for delicate (carbon) parts
  • Visual inspection of critical parts
  • Assembly and transport on a rotary table with product holders
  • Dedicated PLC control unit
  • Continuous check on proper assembly of parts

Final Assebly module

  • Final assembly with a revet process
  • Assembly and transport on a rotary table with product holders
  • Running in by rotating static and dynamic part
  • Height test with predefined pressure
  • Leakage test
  • Marking of products by ink-jet printing
  • Dedicated PLC control unit

Impressor - Standalone Inspectionsystem for Stamping Industry

The Impressor is a complete, compact vision inspection system, espacially designed for the precision stamping industry. It will be positioned between the press and reeler system. It is capable of a 100% inspection of all critical dimensions and other features such as shapes of products.

The Impressor is equipped with a powerfull high speed PPT Vision Impact system, which is a powerfull and flexible system.

The transport of the productstrip is continuous or incremental. Tension on the strip can be adjusted and a loop-controlled buffer with pulleys is standard. Detection of rejects may result in stopping the press or in cutting out the rejected part with an optional cutting mechanism. Fast change over times for both tools and inspection program. Universal setup for cameras, light-units, product guiding, transport, etc.

Features:

  • Up to 60 images (fps) per second
  • Standard Inspection application
  • Flat screen colour display
  • Oil Seperator unit with container
  • Loop-controlled buffer with max./min. detection
  • Universal lens holder for different available lenses
  • Different light units available as backlight, strobelight, LED ringlight etc.
  • Easy changeable product specific tooling
  • Attractive, robust industrial design with doors for good accessibility.

Universal Welding Machine

The Universal Welding Machine (UWM) is a 4-axis contour laser welding machine. An example where this UWM is used is for welding 2 titan shells of a medicine pump together. This medicine-pump will be implanted in the human body.

The UWM is a universal weldingmachine on which a fiber-optic and lens arrangement is mounted on a 3-axis sled system (XYZ). The servomotors mounted to the sleds, together with a controller, makes it possible to have a positioning-repeatability smaller than 10 microns per axis. On the front of the machine a 4th axis with servo is placed on which the product can be clamped and rotated.

The pulsed laser welds the parts together while the 4 axis's follow the contour of the parts. A    nozzle mounted to the laserhead provides a protective gas shield (different types of gas possible). This nozzle is programmable so that the best welding environment can be achieved.

Easy exchange of lenses makes it possible to have different focusdistances. A CCD camera with an icon-generator makes it easy to locate the weldingposition on the product.

The UWM's can be used for welding all kind of products and will be supplied with a training and service package.
